With visual storytelling at his core, as a director, writer, producer and photographer, Matt’s experience ranges across film and game design to shooting stills in some of New Zealand’s most isolated and rugged environments. He is also an experienced editor and vfx artist.

Growing up in the far southern reaches of New Zealand, his work embodies a reverence for adventure and the wild unknown through an authentically gritty lens.

His film work has screened at multiple international film festivals and attained millions of views online. His most recent short films, sci-fi western THE BALLAD OF MADDOG QUINN and dark fantasy tale RIVEN, both premiered at the SITGES International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, Spain. He is a founder of indie game studio Little Dragon Interactive, currently in development on THE ORDER OF THE DAMNED, with support from NZ-CODE.
